There are many in Calgary but here’s a few of our favourites:
Princes Island Park
Situated right beside Eau Claire Market on Calgary’s scenic river pathway, this is a great area for exploring, playing and walking or running. There is even an outdoor playground for the kids.

Situated beside Prince’s Island downtown and on Calgary’s beautiful river pathway, Eau Claire has it all. Outdoor wading pools that are ideal for little ones up to age 4, an indoor playground inside as well as funky shops, movie theatre, restaurants and a food court.

Bowness Park – year round park with a spray pool, playground, miniature train ride, mini-golf, carnival rides, canoes, foot-powered watercraft rentals and skating in the winter on the frozen lagoon.

Riley Park – playground and wading pool. When you’re finished playing, head over to the Kensington area (10th Street & Kensington Road) and get something to eat and shop around.

Edworthy Park – playground, river pathway for walking, biking or running, picnic tables, barbeque pits and Angel’s cappuccino and ice cream bar too. Entrance to the Douglas Fir Trail is accessed through here.

South Glenmore Park – playground (Calgary’s only one which is designed especially for children with disabilities) and water spray park. Also has tennis courts and a public sailing school and rentals.

Confederation Park – playground, picnic tables, nice walking trails, tennis courts, and cross country ski trails in the winter.
